This Privacy Policy describes how ZEEP ("the App"), developed and published by ZOR.O Software s. r. o. ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use our Android application. ZEEP is an audio editor designed with a core principle: respect for your time and attention.
ZEEP requires no account. Audio editing and project storage stay on your device. If you choose OneDrive folder sync, the App transfers the files and folder information you select to and from your Microsoft account. ZEEP does not operate its own account system or cloud storage. The optional ZEEP Pro subscription is billed by Google Play; we never see your payment details. Optional usage and crash data is transmitted only if you explicitly opt in.
We do not operate a ZEEP account system or cloud storage for your files, and we do not receive or store your audio content, recordings, exported files, file names, project names, or Microsoft sign-in credentials on our own servers.
Except for the user-directed OneDrive transfers and access-code service described in Section 3, the Google Play purchase confirmation described in Section 6, and the optional analytics described in Section 2, the App does not transmit personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, or address), precise or GPS location, financial or payment information, contacts, call logs, SMS data, browsing or search history, advertising identifiers, or hardware serial numbers.
ZEEP accesses and processes audio files locally on your device in order to provide its core editing functionality. Audio data leaves the device only when you direct ZEEP to sync a connected Library folder with your own OneDrive.
We do not use advertising SDKs. The App contains no ads.
To learn which editing tools are useful and to find crashes, ZEEP includes Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google LLC. Collection is disabled when the App is installed. The App transmits no analytics or crash data unless you explicitly opt in.
On first launch, the App asks whether you want to share anonymous usage and crash data. If you decline, no analytics or crash data is collected. If you accept, you can change your mind at any time with the "Anonymous analytics" toggle on the App's More screen. Turning the toggle off stops all collection and resets the pseudonymous analytics identifier, so previously collected data can no longer be associated with your device.
If — and only if — you opt in, the following data is collected:
App-interaction events — which editing tools are opened and applied, import/export activity,
audio formats used, layer and step counts, how long tools were used, whether the ZEEP Pro plan screen was
viewed, and the selected plan when a purchase completes.
Cloud sync events — if you connect OneDrive folder sync, ZEEP also records sync-related actions
(connecting or disconnecting an account or folder, sync runs, freeing up local storage), their outcome and duration,
and file counts. These events never include file names, folder names, file contents, or your Microsoft account
details.
App-instance ID — a randomly generated, pseudonymous identifier for this installation of the App.
It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any advertising identifier.
Crash logs and diagnostics — stack traces, device model, operating system version, and similar
technical details used to diagnose crashes.
Approximate location (country/city) — derived by Google from your IP address at the time of
transmission. Precise location is never collected.
This data is processed by Google LLC on our behalf. For details on how Google handles it, see Google's Privacy Policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase. The data is encrypted in transit, is never sold, and is never used for advertising. Retention periods are described in Section 9.
ZEEP's entire editing pipeline runs on your device. When you open, edit, or export audio files, all processing happens locally on your device using FFmpeg (via FFmpegKit, licensed under LGPL v3.0) and SoundTouch (licensed under LGPL v2.1). The Denoise tool runs the DeepFilterNet noise-reduction model on your device; no audio is sent to a server for processing. Audio playback is handled by AndroidX Media3 (ExoPlayer). Editing does not send audio to a server. Audio content leaves your device through the App only if you choose the OneDrive folder sync described below. User preferences (such as UI settings) are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore. Project and file metadata is stored locally using an on-device Room database. This local app data is not sent to ZOR.O Software. When OneDrive sync is enabled, the file and folder information needed for sync is exchanged with Microsoft as described below.
Optional OneDrive folder sync. You can use ZEEP without an account. If you choose to connect OneDrive, Microsoft handles sign-in to your personal Microsoft account and grants the App access under the Files.ReadWrite permission, which Microsoft's consent screen describes as access to all of your files. The sign-in also grants the standard openid, profile, and offline_access scopes: they identify the connected account and let the App refresh its access in the background so sync can run without asking you to sign in again. Microsoft receives the sign-in information needed to authenticate you. ZEEP receives an access token, a refresh token, an account identifier, and the account's display email, which are stored on your device; ZOR.O Software does not receive your Microsoft password or operate the account service. OneDrive folder sync is part of the ZEEP Pro subscription (Section 6).
To keep connected folders in sync, the App reads file and folder listings and related metadata from your OneDrive through Microsoft Graph, and uploads or downloads file contents (and thumbnails supplied by Microsoft) only for the folders you have explicitly connected. Microsoft handles this data under its Privacy Statement.
Optional Pro access codes. If you enter an access code, ZEEP sends the code and a randomly generated identifier for this App installation to our access-code service, hosted on Google Firebase. We use them to issue and validate Pro access and record redemption attempts. Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity verify that requests come from the App; Google processes the attestation data needed for this check. A previously redeemed grant may be checked again while it remains in use. This service receives no audio files, Microsoft account details, or payment details, and it does not create a ZEEP account.
ZEEP requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used solely for the purposes described below. Network access supports optional analytics, user-directed OneDrive sync, Pro access codes, and Google Play services described in Sections 2, 3, and 6.

ZEEP opens audio files through the Android system file picker (Storage Access Framework), which grants per-file access chosen by you — the App therefore requests no media-library permission on Android 13 and above. All permissions that require runtime consent are requested at the time of use, with a clear explanation of why the permission is needed, in accordance with Android's runtime permission model.

The App does not include any advertising libraries or social media SDKs. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics transmit data only after you opt in. Microsoft Authentication Library, Microsoft Graph, and OneDrive transmit data only when you choose to connect and use OneDrive sync. Firebase App Check is used when you redeem or retain a Pro access code. Google Play Billing communicates with Google Play when you view, buy, or restore a ZEEP Pro subscription.

ZEEP offers one optional in-app purchase: the ZEEP Pro auto-renewing subscription, available as a monthly or an annual plan. The complete audio editor, including recording, multilayer editing, every editing tool, and export, is free. ZEEP Pro unlocks workflow features around the editor, such as organizing the Library with folders and the OneDrive folder sync described in Section 3. The current list of Pro features and the price in your currency are shown on the App's More screen and on the Google Play purchase sheet before you buy. An access code can also grant Pro without a purchase, as described in Section 3. ZEEP contains no ads and no other purchases.
Google Play handles the purchase. Payment is processed by Google Play under your Google account and Google's Privacy Policy. ZOR.O Software never receives your payment method, card number, billing address, or any other payment details. The App uses the Google Play Billing Library to start the purchase sheet and to check whether a subscription is active. From Google Play it receives your purchase state, the plan and product identifiers, and a purchase token, which it stores on your device to remember your subscription and to verify it with Google Play. If you opt in to analytics, ZEEP also reports a completed purchase event with the selected plan; this is the optional "purchase history" declared in the Google Play Data Safety Form (Section 12). No ZEEP account is created; the subscription is tied to your Google account and managed by Google Play.
Renewal, cancellation, and refunds. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Subscriptions settings; cancelling stops future charges and Pro remains active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy. If your subscription lapses, the files in your Library remain on your device and stay playable and exportable, and files already synced to OneDrive remain in your own OneDrive; only the Pro workflow features become unavailable.
ZEEP is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The optional analytics described in Section 2 is opt-in, pseudonymous, and never used for advertising or profiling.
Data kept by the App on your device (including local audio files, project metadata, preferences, and Microsoft connection information) is protected by the Android operating system. OneDrive transfers use HTTPS. Data sent to OneDrive is stored by Microsoft under the safeguards described in its Privacy Statement.
If you opt in to analytics, the transmitted data is encrypted in transit and stored on Google infrastructure under the safeguards described in Privacy and Security in Firebase. Because that data is pseudonymous and contains no audio content or personal identifiers, the risk associated with it is inherently limited.
Local app data (including downloaded audio files, projects, preferences, and connection information) stays on your device until you delete it in the App, clear the App's data through device settings, or uninstall the App. Files in your OneDrive remain there until you delete them from OneDrive or direct a synced Library action that deletes them.
Disconnecting your Microsoft account signs the App out, clears its OneDrive connection and sync metadata, and removes cloud-only Library rows from the device. Files already downloaded remain as ordinary local Library files. Disconnecting one synced folder removes that folder's sync link in the same way. Neither action deletes files from OneDrive. Free up space removes only a local copy after ZEEP has a matching cloud copy; the file remains in OneDrive and can be downloaded again when you use it.
The ZEEP Pro purchase state and purchase token (Section 6) are kept on your device for as long as the App is installed and are refreshed from Google Play. Google Play retains your purchase and subscription history under Google's Privacy Policy; ZOR.O Software keeps no separate record of who subscribes.
If you use a Pro access code, our service retains the randomly generated installation identifier, grant information, and redemption attempts to administer access and prevent abuse. The identifier is not tied to a ZEEP account, name, or email address.
If you opt in to analytics, the data is retained under Firebase's default retention settings (currently up to 14 months for user-level analytics data and approximately 90 days for crash reports), after which it is deleted automatically. Aggregate statistics that cannot be linked to any device may be retained longer. Revoking your consent (Section 2) resets the analytics identifier, disassociating previously collected data from your installation.
You retain all rights granted to you under applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar regulations.
The opt-in analytics data described in Section 2 is pseudonymous: we hold no account, name, email address, or other information that could link it to you as a person. Under Article 11 GDPR, where we cannot identify a data subject, we are not obliged to acquire additional information solely to fulfil access or erasure requests — and we do not. The most direct way to stop collection and unlink past data is the in-app opt-out toggle, which also resets the analytics identifier. If you are able to provide your app-instance ID, we can additionally request deletion of the associated analytics data from Google via the Firebase User Deletion API — contact us using the details in Section 13.
If you believe that your privacy has been affected in any way by the use of this App, or if you have any questions about your rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 13. We will cooperate with any legitimate request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
If a future version of ZEEP expands data collection beyond what is described here, we will update this Privacy Policy before the change takes effect, clearly describe what data is collected and why, and where required by law, obtain your consent before collecting any personal data.
The information in this Privacy Policy is consistent with the Data Safety Form submitted to Google Play for this App. The form declares optional collection of app interactions, crash logs, diagnostics, approximate location, and an app identifier for analytics and app functionality. Purchase history is optional and used for analytics when you opt in. Audio, video, and file data is optional and used for app functionality when you connect OneDrive sync. The App also uses an installation identifier to administer an optional Pro access code, as described in Section 3. If you notice any discrepancy between this Privacy Policy and the Data Safety Form, please contact us so we can resolve it.
